How do we get to know if we are Overweight or Obese?

It depends on your Body Mass Index (BMI). Let me make it simple for you. Just take your height in meters and weight in kilograms. Now divide your weight by the square of height in meters. That's your BMI. If your BMI is in the range of 18.5 to <25, it falls within the Healthy range. If your BMI is 25 to <30, it falls within the Overweight range. If your BMI is 30 or higher, it falls within the Obesity range. For example your Height is 5 feet 6 inches (1.67 meters) and your weight is 90 Kgs. Your BMI= Your weight in Kgs (90) divided by square of your height in meters (1.67) i.e 1.67*1.67=2.78. So you BMI is 90/2.78=32.3. So Your are obese.

How would you help me lose weight?

Do I need to join a gym?

It's entirely up to you. Exercising in a gym can fasten your journey but it's not a must. Losing weight is not a sprint, its not a one or two month strategy. Its a MARATHON. That's why we run Weight loss Marathon for 7 weeks, every 2 months where we work on every aspect of your weight loss roots and make you do it with our support and accountability. Joining a gym is not sustainable and practical because its hard to do it consistently. The good news is, you can easily lose weight by investing just 15 minutes in Home Workouts, and that's too without disturbing your busy schedule.

What medicines do I need to take?

THE GOOD NEWS is you can do it without medicines. Your extra weight is deeply rooted in your Lifestyle, Habits, and False Beliefs and that's what we work on.

How fast can I lose weight and when can I expect to see results?

It depends on 2 things. 1. How much weight you need to lose. 2. How determined and fast you are in applying what I teach you in my sessions. You will start seeing the results in one week or less if you take fast and massive action on what you learn.

I have tried different diets and have always regained the lost weight. How is your program different?

Most of the diets getting popular now a days are based on the concept of "Eat less, Move more" which has failed scientifically. They all focus on counting calories, creating a calorie deficit, and hoping to burn calories by increasing your physical activity. They are based on shakes, juices, and soups but the fact is they are all the same, just packaged differently. Its like doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result. That's the only reason why you have failed till now. At The Healing Method, we follow a Hormonal theory of Obesity and don't believe in Eat Less Move More approach. Our Program is different because it focuses on "Quality of calories" rather than quantity of calories. Moreover, we have holistic approach and target all the root causes of extra weight and hence the weight loss is sustainable.

Do I need to follow a low carb or Ketogenic diet in order to lose weight?

The beauty of The Healing Method is that  it can work really well with any diet though we recommend a real home cooked whole food approach to get good results. Regardless of which diet you follow, you are going to feel completely awesome in our Program. Even if you can't follow a real whole food diet, you can still lose weight through Time-Restricted Eating / Intermittent Fasting that we use as a tool inside our Program.

will losing weight result in muscle loss?

Not, not really -  studies have shown that Time-Restricted Eating (TRE) / Intermittent Fasting not only maintains your resting metabolic rate but also burn more belly fat and increase your lean mass (Muscle and bone). So you don't have to worry about it.

What is Time-Restricted Eating (TRE) / Intermittent Fasting? How is it different from Starvation?

Starvation is going without food because of unavailability of food. Thousands die annually because of it. But Time-Restricted Eating or Intermittent Fasting is eating food in a particular time window while fasting in the rest of the time window, with a preset system.

Do I need to fast forever to keep the weight off?

No you don't. You need to treat the fasting approach like a therapeutic intervention for 6-12 months in order to lose weight permanently and reverse all your metabolic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension and PCOD. Once you reach your weight loss & Wellness goals, most of you won't feel like going back to olden days of snacking and binge eating but would rather prefer continuing with your fasting. Fasting gives you such burst of energy, focus, and feelings of awesomeness that its kind of addictive in a positive way.

Is it safe for me to fast if I have X,Y, Z medical conditions?

TRE or Intermittent Fasting is a great tool to lose weight fast and also improve your metabolic health. But we would advice you to check with your doctor if its safe for you to fast. Your condition should be stable before you start fasting. Certain medication would need to be adjusted and your health issues need to be closely monitored if you are fasting.

My doctor doesn't believe in fasting. Can I still start it?

See, it is of utmost importance that a doctor is closely monitoring you while you are fasting. Especially so if you have complicated chronic diseases and take medications.  Doses of your certain medications for Diabetes or Hypertension would need to be monitored and adjusted to prevent serious consequences like Hypoglycemia and Hypotension.

Is fasting safe and effective for women as well?

There are many myths out there about women and fasting. But Intermittent Fasting has helped so many women lose weight and improve their metabolic health and result in reversing conditions like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, improving fertility, and weight loss at all stages of their life. Intermittent fasting is a must have tool if your really want to get awesome results.

What if I need accountability every now and then?

But when you make yourself accountable to a Coach or a Mentor, your chances of success increases to 65%. Also group coaching is more effective than one-to-one sessions. When you join a community, you not only get feedback and guidance from your mentor but you would hear and learn from other's successes and struggles. Group coaching improves accountability by providing each member of the group the support of the whole group. It simply reduces your chances of failure to nil.

Can I expect to lose extra inches around my waist or thighs along with weight?

The Healing Method isn't just about weight loss. The fat around your internal organs called the Ectopic Fat is what predisposes you to develop chronic diseases.
